SketchUp offers powerful 3D visualisation that can be used to design event layouts. SketchUp drawings are very client-friendly and can be used to illustrate your creative ideas. It is also a powerful tool that allows for drawings-to-scale to be created.

SketchUp can also be integrated with AutoCad. You will learn how to take 2D venue CAD plans and create a 3D SketchUp model.

The SketchUp 3D Warehouse is a amazing resource for event professionals. This contains block drawings of speakers, stages, projectors, chairs, table and pretty much everything you could want to create amazing looking drawings.

Course Requirements

  • i7 Mac or PC computer
    Free account with Zoom.us – desktop app installed on the student's computer prior to the training.
    Demo, educational or subscription version of AutoCAD 2017/2018/2019 or 2020 installed prior to the training.
    USB mouse
    Second external monitor (24" or above)
    USB Headset with microphone.

    (Cortex Training can supply a mouse, 24" monitor and USB headset prior to the training if required)

About The Tutor

This course is run by Chris Walker. Chris is the Production Manager for Hot Chip, Despacio Sound System, Soulwax and Too Many DJ’s.

Chris uses SketchUp as a Production Management tool.
