This can be an online course that provides live tuition with an expert tutor.

Alternatively we can come and run the training at your venue, office, co-working space or home.  We can travel nationwide to come and train you and your team in the most convenient location.

This course is not designed for riggers or aspiring riggers.  This course is so non-rigger can understand how rigging systems work, what the component parts are in a rigging system, what the LOLER regulations are and how to be compliant and what you can and can’t do as a non qualified person.

The course can be either delivered in person or via zoom and  is suitable for up to eight students.

We can host this course at our office in London or we can come to you and run the course at your office or venue.

 

Overview

  • Suitable for up to twelve people – the course is delivered by a certified event rigger
  • The event rigging workshop is designed to give event professionals the necessary information to have confidence to understand, specify and work with rigging systems in the event environment. The course also makes it clear when a qualified rigger must be consulted or contracted.
  • The course is designed to demystify rigging systems and terminology so event professionals have the knowledge to work with rigging systems at events
  • Do you work in production and are asked to specify rigging for event that you work on?
  • Are you a sound, lighting or AV technician/engineer that wants to learn more about rigging in your sector?
  • The course combines theory, practical and heath and safety to give attendees confidence and knowledge
  • The course is based around teaching design and compliance in accordance with the current legislation and regulations, including PUWER, LOLER, the Work at Height Regulations

Who it's for

This course will be for people working within the events industry who want to move into the area of rigging – or for anyone who already possesses the core skills and would like to reapply them to a live events context.

The course is run by Liam Beech who is a certified rigger and industry expert

  • Current legislation and regulations, including PUWER, LOLER, the Work at Height Regulations
  • Rigging risk assessment
  • Designing rigging for events and rigging plans
  • Overview of lifting equipment and control equipment
  • Principles of lifting and safe systems of work
  • Marking out
  • Using trusses correctly, slinging and load distribution
  • Creating weight loading documents
